Trip 063 - Purakanui Inlet

In the early days the obvious route between the local railway station and Purakanui township would have been via the coastal inlet route. The original track was constructed prior to World War I, and more recently the route has been reopened.

This trip is an easy winter’s afternoon stroll around the Purakanui Inlet and will take a couple of hours to cover the 6km return distance from the causeway to Purakanui village.
