Trip 084 - Flagstaff / Swampy Summit / Swine Spur / Ben Rudd's

This trip is based on several trips the OTC ran in the Flagstaff/Swampy area in the 1940’s and 1950s. The earliest reference to Swine Spur (which runs from Swampy Summit to Rollinsons Road) on the OTC trip programmes was in April 1947.

Swine Spur is another location that was used regularly for a while, and then wasn’t visited for many years. In this case, the OTC included Swine Spur on trip programmes until 1963, with the next trip referencing the track not until 2015.

This trip will be a circuit from the Bullring. We’ll start off by ascending Flagstaff and onwards to Swampy Summit, passing the McQuilkans and Porkies Tracks. Once at Swampy we’ll descend Swine Spur and link to Smithy’s & McQuilkan’s track to access the Jim Freeman Track to Ben Rudd’s. Return to the Bullring will be via the 4WD track.
